Your New Role

As Assistant Finance Manager, you will support the Finance Manager in managing daily financial operations, reporting accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. You will contribute to budgeting, financial analysis, and process improvements, while supporting and mentoring junior finance staff.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).

  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and perform reconciliations.

  • Support annual budgeting and analyse variances against actual results.

  • Manage AP, AR, payroll, and tax lodgements (GST, FBT, income tax).

  • Assist with audits and prepare supporting documents.

  • Provide financial analysis and commentary to management.

  • Strengthen financial processes and internal controls.

  • Guide and support junior finance team members.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

  • CPA/CA/ACCA qualified (or in progress).

  • Minimum 3+ years’ accounting/finance experience; team leadership an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax compliance.

  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and ERP/finance system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MYOB, Xero).

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Clear communication skills, able to work across departments.

  • Ability to perform under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
