Our client is a professional accounting services firm based in Sydney, specialising in delivering comprehensive tax, accounting, and advisory services to both local and international clients, with a strong focus on supporting Chinese-speaking businesses in Australia.
Your New Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while supporting a bilingual client base.
Job Responsibilities
Process payments, invoices, income, and receipts, entering data into accounting software/databases and filing records
Prepare financial statements showing business income and expenditure
Pay vendor invoices and monitor bank account balances
Complete GST returns and ensure compliance with regulations
Verify accuracy of business accounts, reconciling inconsistencies, and assisting in year-end accounts
Develop monthly/quarterly/yearly financial statements (cash flow, profit & loss, balance sheets)
Manage payroll, superannuation, and employee expense claims
Support tax preparation and assist with administrative accounting tasks
Communicate effectively with Chinese-speaking clients to provide professional accounting support
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Minimum 5–6 years of accounting and tax experience
Excellent proficiency with Xero and MYOB
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Bilingual language skills required (Chinese and English)
Must currently be based in Australia with full work rights
