Your New Role
The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for delivering manual handling training and ongoing support to nursing and care staff, ensuring safe practices that protect both employees and residents. This is a part-time role (3 days per week, 8 hours per day), requiring travel between multiple aged care facilities within the Sydney Metropolitan area.
Job Responsibilities
· Develop and deliver manual handling training programs for clinical and care staff.
· Assess current practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
· Provide on-site coaching and support to ensure safe and effective manual handling techniques.
· Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training and update content where required.
· Collaborate with the clinical team to recommend equipment and environmental modifications.
· Maintain accurate training records and prepare regular reports on outcomes.
· Keep up to date with legislation, standards, and best practices in manual handling.
· Engage effectively with staff from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Job Requirements
· Degree in Occupational Therapy with current AHPRA registration.
· Demonstrated experience delivering manual handling training in a healthcare or aged care setting.
· Experience in functional assessments and equipment prescription.
· Knowledge of aged care legislation, safety standards, and manual handling protocols.
· Strong facilitation and training skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Fluent in English, with Cantonese and Mandarin highly regarded.
· Current Police Check with no disclosable outcomes.
· Valid Driver’s Licence (essential, for travel between sites).
· Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience (preferred).
Salary & Benefits
· Pay from $44.58 per hour plus superannuation.
